An office chair can have the right seat height, supportive padding, and adjustable lumbar support, yet still fail at the desk. The armrests may strike a center drawer. The user's thighs may touch a keyboard tray. A modesty panel may stop the knees so far forward that the user has to reach for the keyboard.

This is why comparing the chair's overall height with the desk's advertised height does not work.
